My love of making began out of necessity and a desire to wear clothing with style. Long before the term upcycling entered common use, garments were deconstructed and reconstructed into something more beautiful.
Growing up in England, I studied Art and Art History at Abingdon College, nestled in the Oxfordshire countryside. My senior thesis examined ladies’ dress during the period surrounding the establishment of the Royal Academy, a time when women had little influence in matters of importance, yet clothing for those with means displayed extraordinary beauty and exquisite precision of fit. The craftsmanship and artistry of historical dress continue to inspire my work today.
Through embroidery, textile art, and dressmaking, I explore the expressive possibilities of cloth and thread. I am particularly interested in giving physical form to emotional experience—using fabric to explore memory, vulnerability, beauty, and disturbance, and to reveal aspects of our inner lives that are often difficult to express in words.

My current work includes:
  • Free-motion machine embroidery
  • Textile sculpture in fabric and thread
  • Traditional and contemporary metal thread techniques, including goldwork
  • Garments inspired by historical dress •
  • Exploring the translation of emotional states into physical form
At the heart of my practice is a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, curiosity, and the handmade. I continue to delight in learning, experimenting, and discovering new ways in which needle, thread, and cloth can communicate what words alone cannot.

To be inspired by Nature is to manifest beauty and magic. To honor Nature is a duty of care.
